Conceived as a counterbalance to the intensive Springback Academy review-writing programme, the Assembly was initially designed as a space for reflection and for honing skills. It has since developed into a thinktank where writers of different Springback generations debate diverging outlooks and grapple with wider issues surrounding the watching and making of movement today.
After Reykavik (Ice Hot 2018), Reggio Emilia (NID 2019), Oslo (CODA 2021), Brussels (In Movement 2022) and Bergen (Oktoberdans 2022), this year’s Assembly took place at Oriente Occidente in Rovereto, Italy, and was co-ordinated by Gaia Clotilde Chernetich with support from Oonagh Duckworth.
Following the very well-received publication outcome from last year’s Assembly at Oktoberdans, we have again produced a special ‘supplement’ of free- and wide-ranging writings reflecting on the encounter. You can browse these from menu.
