Jonas Schildermans is a Belgian dance producer, promoter and writer with a background in art history. It was through critical writing that his journey into the world of professional dance began; with a review on one of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s ballet works that caught the choreographer’s attention and that sparked a lasting collaboration. Since 2016, Jonas has worked alongside Cherkaoui in various artistic and productional roles, mainly in the fields of documentation, communication and press, at his Antwerp-based company Eastman. He is currently engaged in editing and coordinating a retrospective publication on Cherkaoui’s comprehensive oeuvre. His international experience includes serving as artistic assistant to Sasapin Siriwanji at BIPAM (Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting), supporting the platform’s mission to connect performing arts professionals across Southeast Asia, and as international representative at Chou Tung-yen’s Very Theater in Taipei. All of Jonas’s undertakings and achievements are rooted in a lifelong love for dance.
