  • Daria Ancuța is a theatre scholar, dance critic and playwright based in Bucharest, with BA and MA studies in Theatre & Performance at the National University of Theatre and Film ‘I.L. Caragiale’ (UNATC).

She regularly contributes to both Romanian and international performing arts magazines (Teatrul azi, Scena.ro, CONCEPT Academic Journal, Springback Magazine) and is editor-in-chief of Dissolved Magazine, a platform supporting new voices in cultural journalism. Her interest in contemporary forms of intersectionality in the performing arts has led her to international dance criticism programmes such as Resolution Review (UK, 2024), Springback Academy (Germany, 2024), and Springback Assembly (Hungary, 2024; France, 2025), where she worked alongside journalists from The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Scotsman.

Daria also coordinates playwriting and theatre criticism workshops at UNATC, and collaborates with theatres across Romania as a dramaturg, festival curator, moderator and Q&A facilitator. In 2025, she became the youngest-ever member of the Nomination Jury of the UNITER Awards Gala – Romania’s most prestigious theatre accolade.
