Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, Robin Lamothe first built his practice as a performer before choosing to be a little harder to classify: choreographer, critic, curator, cultural project manager and sponsorship consultant, sometimes in the same week. He works under the banner of Collective/less, founded in 2018, where choreography becomes a way of reading territories, power relations, and the small violences of everyday organisation.
In 2025, he was curator of the European Critics’ Assembly at the Biennale de la danse de Lyon, in collaboration with Aerowaves and Springback Magazine. Since 2022, he has written as a European dance critic for Springback Magazine, Dance Context Webzine, Mouvement and CND Magazine, while developing long-term artistic projects between Europe and Botswana.
