    Donald Hutera has been writing, speaking and lecturing about dance, theatre, live performance and the arts in the US, the UK and globally since 1977. Publications and websites to which he has contributed include The Times of London, the New York and Los Angeles Times, Time Out London, Animated, Dance Europe, Dance Umbrella News, Pulse Magazine and many others.

    He co-authored The Dance Handbook with former Time Out dance editor Allen Robertson, edited The Rough Guide to Choreography and is featured in Fifty Contemporary Choreographers. An experienced post-show host, he has also served on juries for, among others, Total Theatre Awards, BE Festival, Casa Festival, UK Theatre Awards and, as a member of the UK Dance Critics Circle, the National Dance Awards.

    In 2013 he began curating, producing, creating and providing dramaturgy for GOlive Dance and Performance Festival and, the following year, co-founded Chelsea Arts Collect with visual artist/philosopher Lilia Pegado. He received two commissions apiece from Guardians of Doubt (GoD) and InTRANSIT Festival to create indoor and outdoor performances. As an actor, dancer and mature devising performer he has, since 2018, been a member of Rhiannon Faith Company and Posh Club*Dance Club (PC*DC). In 2024 he collaborated with Christopher Matthews/formed view and Susan Kempster on the creation of two new dance-based performances.
